My family and I joined the Sudbury community in 2012. The Goodnow Library was my first support network for creating connections in Sudbury. Goodnow’s activities and event offerings were incredibly helpful in our early days as new parents and homeowners.
I developed a love for libraries at a young age, making weekly trips with my parents to the Forbes Library in Northampton. My curiosity and inquisitiveness can be traced back to the hours I spent exploring the stacks of Forbes’ glass-floor mezzanine. The transparent floor tiles made me feel like I was inside a Nancy Drew mystery! The library is where my lifelong love of learning began.
The library played a role in many milestones in my life, from conducting research for school projects to submitting my first passport application, from picking up forms to file my first tax return to exploring college guidebooks. Growing up with Forbes, I developed an appreciation for the many ways in which a library provides essential public services.
My husband Caleb Cochran and I have two sons at Noyes (4th grade and K). They are at their happiest playing basketball in our driveway for hours on end or swimming at SS&T. Caleb is a Cub Scout den leader, Sudbury youth soccer assistant coach, and a volunteer for the Senior Center. Some of our favorite things about our town are our neighbors and schools, SED, SS&T, and all things outdoors.
